One of the most interesting new features of SQL Server 2005's Reporting Services implementation is the ability to use Report Models so that users can create ad-hoc reports without resorting to writing SQL or MDX. In fact, these modern day report tools built into SSRS are so easy that you do not need to know SQL/DMX at all to get the data that you want!
This chapter/category focuses on learning what report models are, what SDML (Semantic Model Definition Language) is and how it works, roles, attributes, fields, entities and just about everything associated with ad hoc reporting in SQL Server Reporting Services.
